Hardwood Thresher Floor. These planks were the floor in the hay mow. Here the farmers backed their wagons to unload hay. Here is where they unloaded sheaves of wheat, oats, and barley to thresh the berries from the stems, and then to separate the wheat from the chat. Decades and decades of use gives the wood an amazing unique patina. The bottom side is usually clean or white washed, with bold circle saw marks.
