Hand hewn skins sawn from hand hewn beams and sleepers. Sorted by hardwood/pine. Sorted by length.
Skins are cut and sold as 2" thick but actual thickness varies from 1.5" to 3", depending on factors such as who the beam was originally hewn, how it might have changed over the last century and a half, and how the Amish craftsmen decided to saw it.
Hand hewn beam skins are roughly square on the edges, but often the beam had wane, which makes for a rounded edge. Hand hewn skins have tapered edges.
